You know it’s true. Five people love the hotel, but there are those two who hate it. All the pics look great! But, what have you really learned? Nothing! You need more information to make informed decisions. Remember, you only have one shot at this … is it worth the risk to do this on your own?
#4 – Booking on Your Own Gives You Less Protection
Have you ever booked a room, and then not been given the room you booked? Or even had to take a room in an alternate hotel? Since the on-line guys do NOT use wholesale contracts, whether or not you get the room you booked is solely at the whim of the hotel manager! We use sources that have the hotel under contract. So, say you and one other couple are in the lobby late at night waiting to check in but, only one room is available. You booked with us (an agent who has a contract), but the other couple booked own their own. Guess who would get that room? You would! That alone should be enough reasons not to book your own destination wedding … but there is more!
#3 – When You Have an Agent, You Have a Reliable Source of Info Who Has Your Best Interest in Mind
And don’t forget about your guests either. It’s a relationship that no on-line booking site can duplicate. We get to know our clients. We learn about what they want, what they like and what they don’t like. We have been to the places our clients want to go, so we can tell them what to expect! We know what the atmosphere is like, what the customs are, the cool little places to go, and the places to avoid. Do you really think the customer service desk at the on-line places is staffed with anyone who has actually been where you are going? This is your wedding, Don’t take chances.
#2 – What you Don’t Know About Travel Can Cost You, and Your Guests: PLENTY
Information is out there, but even more MISinformation is out there waiting to bite you in the butt. Do you always know the difference? If you don’t know the right questions to ask, you can get into trouble in a hurry. None of us know what we don’t know! This is why experience and travel specialist certifications matter. For example, those big on-line travel and hotel sites can’t tell you which countries have exit taxes that must be paid in cash at the airport. Or, which countries won’t let you in unless your passport is valid for 6 months after your travel.
